Labor's ongoing support for National Broadband Network

The Liberal National Party candidate for Griffith one day is a National Broadband Network champion and then, when this proves to be politically embarrassing for Tony Abbott, he tries to have his support deleted from history.

Furthermore, the Liberal National Party candidate has publically declared support for the National Broadband Network in 2009 and 2011.

This is not just a backflip, it is also a betrayal of the basic broadband needs of more than 140,000 residents across Brisbane’s Southside and more than 22,000 small businesses.

I call on the Liberal National Party candidate for Griffith to have the courage of his convictions and stand up to Tony Abbott on a critical investment for our local community.

  1. Come on Kevin, you know the game. The Liberal machine requires the Liberal puppets to vote AGAINST the NBN and the Labour machine requires the Labor puppets to vote FOR the NBN. There is nothing else to say except Party Politics stink and screw up the whole nation. All we have is 150 elected candidates in a cock fight while the nation goes down the sewer. Right?

  2. I live in the Makin electorate and proud that Tony Zappia supported you in the ballot one year ago. However, I am aware that Tony can do nothing for us personally because he must toe the Party line. My personal views about the NBN, Assange, Hicks, don't matter one iota to Tony because he is just a Labor puppet. And if Julia is (miraculously) still leading Labor in six months time I'll guess we'll inherit a Liberal puppet to take Tony's place. Cheers !!

  3. I reckon your good mate Malcolm Turnbull loves the NBN even though he is required by his Party to pretend to hate it. Damn politics.

  4. Kevin, Australia needs a rational, centrist Liberal Democratic party and it needs you to lead it. Maybe with Malcolm as deputy. The ALP is broken. Get with destiny.

  5. I tend to agree with the last comment and must admit have pondered the likelihood of such a partnership. Kevin and Malcolm are two genuine guys, successful in their own lives and very worthy leaders. If we must have Parties then let's get something fresh and as energetic as was Kevin 07.
