It was a pleasure to officially open the new federally-funded Whites Hill State College facility this morning. The new Integrated Learning Centre is a terrific new building that has changed the way the students learn, with high-quality resources encouraging them to pursue their talents in a variety of areas.
While attending the Ceremony, Principal Paul Robertson explained how the new Integrated Learning Centre now accommodates separate classrooms for music, multimedia and information and technology. The added bonus is that the Centre can be fully opened up to become a much needed venue for school events; such as assemblies, graduation ceremonies and of course, musical performances.
I am proud of the fact that this program not only stimulated the national and local economies through the building and refurbishing of school infrastructure, but also provided a once in a lifetime opportunity for students to embrace their educational aspirations.
A big thank you to Whites Hill Principal, Paul Robertson, and all the teachers and students for making me feel so welcome.
It's always heartwarming to be welcomed by people that you first met. I am sure that you will come back to this State College to experience their warm reception once again.
