I was pleased to recently visit
Coorparoo Secondary College to spend some time with their Senior Leaders.
I spoke to them about their studies, their plans for the
future and what they’ve enjoyed about their time at this terrific Queensland
state school. It was great to listen to their experiences and to share some of
my old school stories.
I wish all of the senior students all the best for the
remainder of their school journey.
Principal Roslyn Parkes also introduced me to some
fantastic Year 8 English and SOS students. One of the classes was studying the
Apology and the students were keen to ask me lots of questions about how I
wrote the Apology speech and what I hoped it would mean to Indigenous and
non-Indigenous Australians.
I really enjoyed the discussions with both classes and I
look forward to visiting again.
